My excuse for reading YAF was that up until recently, my mum worked in the Young Adult department of the library. My particular thing is YA fantasy, which is the literary equivalent of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream for me. (Robin McKinley's Sunshine being the ultimate example thereof.)

Hmm, Francesca Lia Block is not on your list. Have you read her? And Zilpha Keatley Snyder is on your list. Have you read the Green Sky Trilogy? I was completely obsessed with it when I was about 8 and I don't think I've ever met anyone else who's ever read it.
