This isn't really an update, it's just a photo from two nights ago, when she voluntarily climbed up to my bed and slept with me.








sabotabby points out that I should update with pix frequently, before she is no longer a kitten. That is a wise idea. I only have one picture of Rilke as a kitten, though it is adorbs, as the young folk say.

I approve of this plan. How old is she now?

She is about eleven weeks, according to the vet. We thought 10 to 12, and she's big in her body, but her teeth seemed younger -- last week, that is, so the vet called her ten weeks a week and a half ago. She slept on my bed the whole night (well, the part of the night she wasn't playing around) last night.

I have decided that in one month I am going to start visiting the cat shelter and seeing if anyone wants to come home with me.

Yes, exactly.

My father told me about her when I was really little -- like, only two years after she became an Irish republican socialist MP in Westminster. And I've heard her speak in Britain, and talked with her afterwards. And my dad and stepmother have driven around Derry with her, and gone to a couple of pubs with her. I admire her enormously.
