Day 241: what name would my parents have given me...

... if I'd been male? Huh. I actually called my dad to ask (and to tell him and my stepmother to look at FB to see my KITTEN) and Mary asked my dad (who was busy playing solitaire). She reported that he said that he never even gave a male name a thought. He didn't give it any thought until I was born. He named both my sister and I -- I don't think my mom had any look in, at all. I just called her and she says her main thought was that a male name "wouldn't be hard." (I think that, myself, actually... not sure why, but plain male names -- and some fancy ones -- don't seem hard to muse about. Women's names are more freighted for me).
