Date: 2019-09-25 11:06 pm (UTC)Best documentary he's done since The Civil War, in my opinion. (I was disappointed in Jazz and couldn't get through the Roosevelts). Although the Dust Bowl was good.
This is amazing. He covers the entire arc of a lot of these people's careers. And Dolly Parton, Hank Williams Jr, Merle Haggard, Emmylou Harris, Brenda Lee, Hazel Smith, Marty Stuart, Rosanne Cash, Carlene Carter, etc are among the interviews. We have the actual music, clip, photographs, footage, everything. It is blowing my mind.
And if you like Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton, episode 6 and 7 are must-sees.
