Four Things (Do I have to LJ cut this? Maybe not.)

1. Four jobs that I have had in my lifetime:

* cleaner of the Kay Campbell's dress store
* assistant at the Craft Studio, including laying all the chemicals for photo developing
* writing tutor at a college writing center
* translator and editor for a far-left international newsmagazine, now sadly only available online.

2. Four movies I would watch over and over:

* Bunty Aur Babli
* Reds
* My Beautiful Laundrette
* Kuch Naa Kaho

3. Four places I have lived:

* Falmer, Sussex, England
* Malakoff, France
* Columbia, Missouri
* Madison, Wisconsin

4. Four TV Shows that I watch(ed):

* The Wire
* Project Runway
* Deadwood
* and, if I'm going to put "plan to watch" on here, since I don't really watch any actual real time TV, Dexter, and a Brit show my friend Alistair recommends, apparently called Shameless.

5. Four places I have been:

* Prince Edward Island, Canada
* Ketchikan, Alaska
* Gdansk, Poland
* Clarks, Louisiana

6. Four people who e-mail me (regularly):

7. Four Favorite foods (this is completely random, because I cannot imagine narrowing it down to FOUR favorite foods):

* good macaroni and cheese
* saag paneer and aloo gobhi (especially without the aloo)
* taramasalata and avgolemono soup and crusty bread
* kheer with gulab jamun in it

8. Four places I would rather be right now:

* where I am, which is on my friends' couch, using their wifi and about to watch DVR'd House and America's Next Top Model
* in my own warm bed, with fresh flannel sheets
* in Augusta, Georgia
* in Newcastle, England

9. Four things I am looking forward to:

* writing more in my Young Adult Fiction review series
* more long phone calls with M.
* watching more of Season Four of The Wire
* traveling somewhere with amarama

My Beautiful Launderette is one of my favorites too. Except I haven't seen it in about ten years so the other day when I was raving about it to someone I started to worry that it might have questionable themes that would bug me now. Thoughts?

Which themes do you think might bug you? There's the up and coming immigrant-entrepreneur... but that bugged me at the time I first saw it. I don't know. I would still love to see it again. I own it, actually -- maybe you and amarama would want to come watch it sometime?
